North Phoenix & Anthem Counseling

North Phoenix & Anthem Counseling

Crossroads Counseling Center first opened its doors November of 2006 in Anthem, Arizona.  Since that time Crossroads has served the Anthem community by providing high quality counseling and therapy services.  In 2009, Crossroads moved to its current location just outside of Anthem in North Phoenix.  This location which is conveniently positioned next to the I-17 and Carefree Highway allows Crossroads to continue to serve the community of Anthem while also being able to serve North Phoenix, Tramonto, Carefree, Cave Creek, Desert Hills, Sonoran Foothills, other surrounding communities, and even Peoria.

Our North Phoenix and Anthem office offers all of the services people have come to expect from Crossroads.  Our therapists are licensed professionals in the state of Arizona who are trained in the most effective therapeutic treatment models.  We have counselors that treat people suffering from depression, anxiety, or trauma.  Depression and anxiety are often two sides of the same coin.  If you have ever been truly depressed or suffered from anxiety you know just how painful, empty, nerve wracking, and disruptive they can be.  Crossroads Counseling’s depression therapy and anxiety therapy has helped others overcome the pang of anxiety and the dullness of depression.

Crossroads also offers trauma counseling.  There is a common misconception that in order to receive trauma counseling one has to be diagnosed with PTSD.  This is simply not true.  There are many experiences in life that are traumatic but do not meet the criteria for PTSD.  In other words, a person can be functioning at a very high level and still be suffering from trauma.  Common symptoms of trauma are shock, denial, shame, anger, feelings of sadness or hopelessness, and withdrawing from people and activities.  Like with depression and anxiety, most people who are suffering from trauma feel isolated and alone.  Like no one really understands.  The trauma therapists at Crossroads do understand.  They can help by providing not only support and understanding but also evidenced based treatments such as EMDR.

If you live in North Phoenix, Anthem, or its surrounding areas and are looking for help with depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief and loss please call our office at 623-680-3486 or text us at 623-688-5115.

The North Phoenix and Anthem office offers couples counseling and marriage therapy.  In fact, this is the speciality of Crossroads which is known as one of the Valley’s premier relationship centers.  What makes Crossroads unique in this area is our Couple’s Transformation Program, CTP.  CTP is a comprehensive approach to marriage counseling.  This means that our couple’s counselors treat both the relationship and each individual.  During the course of treatment it may be learned that one or both partners in the relationship could benefit from additional services in addition to the couple’s work.  For instance, one partner may be referred to one of our groups such as Connected Man or Connected Woman.  Let’s say the other partner in the relationship suffers from childhood trauma that makes vulnerability difficult and scary so meeting with a trauma therapist may be a part of the action plan.

As a part of the CTP, Crossroads Counseling also offers intensive marriage or couples counseling sessions.  These are in both a group and individual format depending on the couple’s desires and needs.  The award winning Hold Me Tight seminar is offered throughout the year.  This program is based on Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy which is an evidenced based treatment model proven to help couples with communication, conflict, and connection issues.  Crossroads is home to the Christian Affair Recovery Experts or C.A.R.E. which is a program specifically designed for couples who are experiencing the devastating effects of infidelity.

Family, Child, and Teen counseling services are available in the North Phoenix and Anthem location.  Crossroads has a great team of family therapists and counselor who work with children ages 6 and up and teens.  Family life is one of the most challenging and rewarding ventures people can embark on.  In our current day and age there are many challenges that face parents and kids as they learn how to navigate through life.  Parents often need help helping their children which is why we not only offer counseling services but also have programs such as Love and Logic.  Both family counseling and are programs can help parents find the balance between rules and relationship.

Child counseling and teen counseling are also available.  Many of the therapists at Crossroads practice attachment theory.  Attachment theory teaches that all people need a safe and secure bond with another throughout life in order to be healthy and productive.  Our counseling for teens and children helps them to learn how to regulate their emotions and to communicate what they are feeling and what their relational/emotional needs are.

Crossroads offers Christian counseling services in the North Phoenix and Anthem office for those who would like this integrated into their experience.  For many, belief in God is the primary agent of change and having faith be a part of their counseling and therapy is essential.  For others, this is not important or something they prefer at all.  Crossroads respects people’s beliefs and works with all backgrounds religious and non-religious.
