Kristen Teeples, LAC
Kristen is a Licensed Associate Counselor under the supervision of Crossroads Counseling.
Kristen completed her Master’s in Counseling through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine by interning at Crossroads Counseling. Keeping it real, living compassionately, and creating experiential ways for growth and healing are some of Kristen’s hallmark values.
Kristen comes to Crossroads after 31 years of encouraging people by leading in various Church ministries. Because she has been helped by God and others through some of life’s deepest valleys and wounds, Kristen has followed God’s call to help people within the counseling setting.
As we live and relate in an imperfect world, people hurt others and often that pain is related to pain that goes way back. Kristen believes that when that hurt happens, we need people to come alongside us. To her, counseling is coming alongside someone to navigate their way through personal, relational, and performance problems. By getting to the root of the issues, Kristen trusts God to lead in the process to help a person move towards hope, growth, and healing, finding the freedom that Jesus intends. Kristen considers navigating life with others sacred ground. Her personal life mission is to love others by creating a refuge where wholeness and abundant life can grow and flourish through healthy relationships with God, others, and self.
Kristen is looking forward to refining her passion for inspiring others to healthy living and relationships using the discipline of psychotherapy and the best empirically based practices, such as EFT, the Gottman Method, Prepare/Enrich, Mindfulness and Christian Meditation, Trauma-informed therapy, and the Townsend Competence and Character Model. Her hope is to take her experience with adults, families, youth, and children and her heart for people in serving roles such as marriage, parenting, and leadership and help them to connect with God, each other, and self. Kristen feels honored and joyful to serve people in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area under the supervision of the incredible team at Crossroads.
Kristen is a wife to Jeff of 31 years, mom to three grown sons, mother-in-law to three daughters-by-marriage, and has two grandchildren. Learning, hiking, writing, biking, cooking with Jeff, baking, decorating, hosting family and friends, and traveling are a few of Kristen’s interests.
