The Connected Woman

Are you frustrated with life?  Is your marriage, family, relationships, and/or professional life missing deeper meaning and purpose?  Do you feel stuck and not sure what to do?   If the answer is yes then The Connected Woman might be just what you are looking for.

The Connected Woman is small group experience that consists of 6 to 8 women who meet on a consistent basis for a designated period of time. The purpose of the group is for each group member to safely explore who they are, what changes they would like to make within themselves, and in their relationships.

Because trust is a critical component of the growth process the first few sessions of are usually spent on establishing safety and on identifying growth goals among the group members.  It is this safety and trust that allows group members to openly and authentically work towards achieving their goals.  The safety and trust in the group also allows for the group members to offer feedback to one another as well as support.

The power of The Connected Woman is the process of giving and receiving feedback among the group members, encouraging one another to succeed, and in supporting each members growth.  Group members are responsible to bring up topics or issues they want to address.  These topics are often related to the larger goals they are working on with their Crossroad’s Therapist.

The group facilitator acts a guide and along with the group members is able to to point out “blind spots” by offering truth and grace.  Along with group members the therapist/facilitator may serve as a model for effective communication, healthy conflict resolution skills, and assist in promoting personal and relational growth.

What Can I Expect?

Since The Connected Woman is mostly led by the group participants topics of discussion will vary.  Some groups will have certain themes.  For instance, group sessions range from topics such as family, marriage, career, work-life balance, finding meaning and purpose, to much more.

It is important to note that The Connected Woman growth group at Crossroads Counseling draw from the concepts taught in the books Boundaries, Changes That Heal, and Safe People.   The principles in these books along with Attachment Theory and Christian faith principles may be referenced as a part of the group experience.
