The common symptoms of depression are: depressed or irritable mood and feeling sad, decreased interest and/or loss of enjoyment in activities, change in appetite either by eating more or eating less, change in sleep habits either by sleeping more or sleeping less, feeling fatigued or experiencing a loss of energy, struggling with feelings of guilt, shame, or worthlessness, difficulty focusing, and in some cases thoughts and feelings of wanting to die.
