A Faith-Centered Approach to Counseling

Christian counseling at Crossroads is rooted in the belief that emotional, relational, and spiritual healing are deeply connected. For those who desire it, faith can be integrated into the counseling process in a way that feels natural, respectful, and meaningful.

This may include exploring how your beliefs shape your experiences, finding strength and hope through Scripture, or seeking guidance that aligns with your values. At the same time, counseling remains a safe and supportive space—free of pressure—where your personal journey is honored. You may have questions such as…

Many of our clients, Christian and non-Christian alike, seek us out because of our reputation for providing excellent care to our clients. We work with all people regardless of faith background. We even work with those who do not believe in God, have no faith, or who are questioning, seeking, or doubting.

When you come for counseling at Crossroads you will never be met with a condemning attitude. Our focus is to build each other up, speak the truth in love, embody grace, and to foster transformation and growth. Our therapists respect and honor all beliefs and will work with you wherever you are. We can custom tailor your counseling experience to work within your parameters and to fit your needs. Yes and no. Biblical counselors are often lay counselors who are not licensed in professional counseling, but who have received training in utilizing the truths found in Scripture as a part of their counseling process. Most of our therapists are licensed professionals who have received master degrees within the field of counseling and who can integrate biblical principles in the counseling process.

The Christian therapists at Crossroads believe that all psychological principles need to be weighed against the grid of Scripture, and that Scripture holds the final authority. With this said, our Christian therapists utilize empirically validated models and theories of therapy such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing that are clinically proven to treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges.

Crossroads Christian counselors pray or reference Scripture if it is requested by the client. If you are comfortable and open to this then we can make it a part of your counseling experience.

Yes, our Christian counselors offer counseling throughout the state of Arizona. Online counseling (sometimes called teletherapy or video therapy) is confidential, private, and convenient. All you need is a connection to the internet and a device such as a smartphone, laptop, desktop, or tablet. Christian counseling online services lets you meet with a licensed professional Christian therapist from the comfort of your home. You can be located anywhere in the state of Arizona and meet with one of our online Christian therapists.

No. Crossroads Family Counseling Center is not affiliated with any specific church. We are a non-denominational counseling practice. The Christian counselors and therapists working in our practice come from various faith backgrounds and denominations. Not every therapist in the practice claims to be a follower for Christ, but for those that do, their faith informs their worldview and their practice.

We partner with several churches offering counseling services to their members in our Phoenix/Anthem and Scottsdale office locations. The marriage, family, and individual counseling services you receive through one of our Christian Therapists may differ from the guidance given to you by a pastor or lay counselor. While many pastors and lay counselors are trained to provide support and biblical understanding, they often lack the professional expertise that comes with the education and training of a licensed counselor. It is for this reason that many pastors refer people to us, as professional Christian therapists, when they recognize a need for deeper psychological, emotional, and/or spiritual help.
